CEVA Italia secures agreement with Ricoh for Logistics management

14 November 2007 - 11:00 CET

3-year agreement signed with Ricoh Group

Milan - CEVA Logistics, one of the most important logistics operator in the worldwide market, has entered into an agreement with Ricoh Europe Holdings to manage logistics operations on behalf of NRG Italia and Ricoh Italia.

At the global level, Ricoh Group is a leader in the development, production and marketing of software and office automation tools (such as printers, fax machines and multi-function systems and their consumables); it also provides after-sales assistance.

According to the agreement, which is worth about 4 million Euro over three years, CEVA Logistics will supply services including goods receiving, handling and warehousing, personalized services, pickup services and preparation of shipments. In total, CEVA will process about 250,000 shipment orders (200,000 orders for manufactured products and 50,000 for spare parts).

In order to manage the activities of its customer, CEVA will set aside a specifically equipped area of about 3,000 square meters at its Melzo plant (Milan). CEVA will focus on cross-docking activities, which are increasingly in demand from customers and are particularly valuable, as they make it possible to meet the increasingly tight delivery deadlines and to handle incoming items from the parent company to be distributed all over Italy.

As regards NRG, CEVA Logistics recently took over their spare parts management activities through a company branch transfer that led to the employment of eight people in CEVA logistics.

"This agreement", comments Mr. Gianfranco Sgro, COO SEMEA of CEVA Logistics, "enables us to strengthen our leadership position in the office automation field, where we have already played a major role for years".
