14 April 2009 - 12:37 CET

CEVA provides integral warehousing and distribution services throughout Spain

Subirats, Spain, 14 April 2009 - CEVA Logistics, one of the world's leading supply chain companies, announced the award of a contract with the Filtration Division of SOGEFI, in Spain. SOGEFI is an Italian Group concerned with automotive parts components and is a global leader in engine systems, cabin filtration and flexible suspensions components. CEVA manages the receipt, storage, order picking activities and shipment preparation, as well as SOGEFI's spare parts delivery to customers. All activities are carried out at the CEVA Logistics Center in Subirats, Barcelona.

The operation has already been initiated and thanks to CEVA's Zero Defect Start-up (ZDS), the implementation met the schedule required by SOGEFI. ZDS is a process that relies both on best practices and accurate planning for error-free contract start-up. Antonio Fondevilla, CEVA Iberia Automotive, Industry & Tyres Director explains that "CEVA has had to make amendments to the warehouse management system in order to accommodate the various different sizes of products to the correct shelves. We are fully engaged with SOGEFI to find the best solutions to their challenges and support their growth plans in Spain."

SOGEFI's logistics leaders have been closely involved in the start of the operation and state that "SOGEFI strives for continuous improvement and full Supply Chain efficiency and that's why we have chosen a leading supply chain company. CEVA is committed to lead SOGEFI's logistics to an optimal and excellent level and will provide us with solutions involving global synergies across the automotive sector. During our visits to the Subirats site, we have appreciated the effectiveness of the workflow CEVA designed. We were also impressed with the innovative process CEVA applies in its start up operations. We are confident that we have made the best choice."
