Logistics specialist TNT Container Logistics has restructured its business development operation to strengthen its services to customers in key industries. The new vertical sales and support structure has been designed to enable the container hire and de-hire specialist to work more closely with customers throughout their individual supply chains.
Sales and marketing director for UK and Eire John Wright said: "The new structure will allow our business development managers to concentrate on key specialist sectors of food, industrial, healthcare and automotive. By focusing on these vertical markets we will be able to improve the service we offer our customers."
TNT Container Logistics has divided the food sector into two groups because of its diversity - one covering dairy, meat, liquid egg, confectionery and cereal, and the other encompassing ingredients, sauces, liquid sugar and juice.
Each sector will be headed by a dedicated business development manager. The aim of the new structure is to facilitate improved supply chain efficiency by offering a consultative approach to container logistics. By working closely with customers, time and cost saving opportunities can be identified.
Mr Wright added: "Our customers are nearly all part of a larger supply network and there are huge opportunities for TNT Container Logistics to drive improvements in performance both up and down the supply chain using our in-depth knowledge of that industry and our experience in logistics products and services.
"As we continue to move from strength to strength the new structure will help us consolidate our position as the leading provider of intermediate bulk containers for hire, de-hire or sale."
