TNT Logistics delivers for Nissan Renault

13 June 2002 - 15:25 CET

TNT Logistics has been awarded a three year contract to deliver parts to Nissan and Renault dealerships.

Nissan and Renault have formed an alliance, operating a single 37,295 sq metre national distribution centre at Lutterworth, Leicestershire. From there, TNT Logistics delivers to
264 Nissan and 200 Renault dealerships, five nights a week.

TNT Logistics has worked with Nissan for the last ten years and the excellent relationship has resulted in this significant expansion of business, says Neil Crossthwaite, Managing Director TNT Logistics.

"We have demonstrated over the last decade that we are committed to service excellence and continuous improvement so we are delighted to have been awarded this new contract."

As well as the direct deliveries from Lutterworth, double-deck trailers are used to deliver to nine outbases, with all deliveries made before 8am. A before-noon service is operated for dealerships in Northern Ireland and the offshore islands.

Laurie Blackburn, Head of Operations - Nissan, says: "The final piece of the complex jigsaw in the formation of a single Parts Distribution Centre, supporting the Renault Nissan dealer network in the UK, has been the introduction of a single dedicated fleet combining deliveries to all dealers within the two franchises. We now have the solid platform and confidence to go forward and exceed all of our customers' expectations."
