MAN ERF UK has awarded TNT Logistics a three-year contract for collection and delivery services throughout the UK.MAN ERF UK Ltd offers a comprehensive range of commercial vehicles, buses, coaches, industrial and marine engines to operators and companies in the UK.
The new contract involves both the aftersales parts delivery to the MAN ERF dealers and a new parts collection service from 30 ERF MAN suppliers throughout the UK. Furthermore the services of TNT Express are used to deliver emergency orders to dealerships on a pre 09.00 hours service.
TNT Logistics began working with MAN in 1985, delivering aftersales parts to dealers from the Swindon warehouse. This work now involves deliveries to 70 dealers once or twice a week.
Since MAN acquired the British truck manufacturer ERF about five years ago, the company has been looking at ways to integrate some of its existing operations. The ERF warehouse at Burton-on-Trent has been closed and the ERF parts moved into MAN's Swindon warehouse, which has been extended.
"We are delighted to win this contract and to continue our long and valued relationship with MAN," says Neil Crossthwaite, Managing Director, TNT Logistics UK. "We have many years experience in designing and operating collection services for automotive clients so we are sure we can achieve significant synergies and efficiencies for MAN ERF through this service.
Darren Weeks, MAN ERF UK Aftersales Director says: "TNT brings total confidence to the support of our dealers and operators in this highly critical customer focused business arena."
