TNT Logistics has been named 'Best Transportation Company' in Brazil
11 July 2001 - 16:38 CET
TNT Logistics was recently named the "Best Transportation Company in Brazil" from amongst the biggest road and air transportation companies and Logistics operators throughout the country. This important award was made by Exame Magazine in their "Melhores e Maiores" edition.
Acknowledged as the most reliable source of domestic economic business indicators in Brazil, "Melhores e Maiores" supplies detailed data and information on over 500 of the biggest private companies. The publication includes company balance sheets, reports, economic scenarios, market trends and a sound analysis of the 22 main economic sectors, divided into three major areas of activities: industry, trade and services. Each year, "Melhores e Maiores" elects the "biggest and best" company in each sector. The decision is based upon the following criteria: return on assets, sales growth, market share, liquidity, immobilized investments, wealth per worker, and inclusion in the "Corporate Citizenship Guide" and the "Top 100 Best Companies To Work For" Guide.
"Surpassing the other major companies in our business segment is an unequalled honour for TNT", says Gianfranco Sgro, TNT Logistics Managing Director for South America. His satisfaction is completely justified. TNT has been operating in Brazil only since 1997 -- and the rigorous judgement criteria of the Exame Magazine are rarely met so quickly. Past winners of the Magazine's "best in sector" awards have included: Fiat Auto, Pirelli, Goodyear, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Volkswagen, Carrefour, Brahma, Nestlé, IBM, Gessy Lever, Novartis, Ericsson, 3M, Hewlett Packard and other major companies.
In addition to Exame's "Best Transportation Company in Brazil" award, TNT Logistics Brazil has also received AUTODATA Magazine's 2000 award for "Best Logistics Operator" as well as the "Outstanding Company Award" from the State Government of Rio Grande do Sul.
